Speakeasy Highlights
I’ve worked for Speakeasy as a freelancer since
2001 (which could possibly make me the longest serving freelancer!).
I’ve worked on a number of different projects during my time with
Speakeasy. The main bulk of work was with the Act Up Young People’s
Drama Group creating and devising theatre. My favourite Act Up project
was in October 2005 when I was given the opportunity to work with six of
the older members of the group to direct them in Pyramus and
Thisbe. The group really engaged with the work and were a
pleasure to work with and I think this came across in the piece we
created. Away from Act Up I still recall my first job with Speakeasy in
March 2001 and touring those schools in The Secret Universe
as the notorious park keeper Augustus ‘Parky’ Parkinson. Then there are
the people I have met and worked with such as Louise Jaggard who I
always enjoyed working with, There are many other moments that could
probably fill a whole website (Performance Café, Sabanrab, Once in a
Lifetime…)….but I’ll leave it there.
