Awards

Speakeasy Theatre Company does not go looking for awards- but it's quite nice when  someone else puts us forward for them!

Biffaward- The environmental project 'Trashtown Mystery', originally sponsored by Biffa Waste Management, was one of 20 projects to make the final shortlist for this prestigious national award. 'Trashtown' reached the last four and we got a nice certificate...

BT Community Connections Award- Not a trophy but a nice new computer to enable members of the Act Up youth theatre group to improve their website, and a little cheque too!

Green Apple Gold Award- Another environmental project, 'Greedley's Factory', won this award. This schools project was commissioned by Melton Borough Council and encouraged young people to devise strategies for leading greener lives.

R.Griggs Group Marketing Award- For innovative marketing ideas. Speakeasy marketed some Maskwork masterclasses by producing flyers in the form of wearable cardboard Greek Tragedy masks. We've still got some in a box in the cupboard, if you want one.

Act Up Youth Theatre - www.hollisphotography.com

"It really is great, it gives kids such great opportunities to use their creativity, their imagination, to learn skills that they can use outside of here and do things that the schools don’t necessarily or are unable to do."
