'The Castle Challenge'
It is 1646. Ashby Castle is under siege. Alison works in the castle kitchens, helping to feed the defenders. Her younger brother though is part of the besieging army outside. The castle feeds her but her loyalty is with her family- which side should she be on?
Working with Braunstone Frith Junior School and the University of the First Age, 'The Castle Challenge' was a week long summer school drama project based around the historical siege of Ashby Castle. Developing the drama both at the ruins of the castle and in school, the young people had to meet not only the challenge of putting together a performance, but to use the drama to explore issues of loyalty, identity and history...

"Great games for trust, teambuilding and ice-breaking- the teachers gained a lot from that!"
