The Tale of the Wharf

This site-specific outdoor performance was commissioned by Harborough District Council, telling the story of the Market Harborough Canal Basin and the people who worked both at the wharf and who plied their trades along the Grand Union Canal. The piece was developed and performed at the Canal basin by young people from Harborough Primary school, working alongside actor/workshop leaders from Speakeasy, and was featured in a live broadcast on local television.

Speakeasy can research, script, cast or devise performances or workshops on just about any issue you may want to highlight. Why not contact us if you have an idea, (and preferably, a budget?)

The Tale of the Wharf

"I was most impressed by the professional way that the project was dealt with - a lot of hard work went into the research, school liaison, work with young people and performance itself. Speakeasy were professional, approachable and flexible throughout and I can thoroughly recommend them for educational and performance projects."
