Speakeasy is a Theatre in Education Company based on the Saffron Lane Estate in Leicester, providing workshops, performances and interventions across the Midlands.

Speakeasy was formed in 1996 and has developed a strong reputation across all areas of its work, primarily working in Schools, Young People’s Theatre and the Learning Disability Sector.

We are a not-for-profit organisation with a firm belief in utilising drama as a tool, both in educational settings, and in creating opportunities for people's voices to be heard. We take great pride in our extended portfolio of  successful projects developed and delivered through our highly skilled core team, and pool of regularly used artists.

We believe every project should be well thought out, and expertly delivered, constantly striving to match the needs and exceed the expectations of our partners and participants.

Speakeasy is a member of the Independent Theatre Council
and the National Association of Youth Theatres.

The Company are artists in residence at
Eyres Monsell Primary School.
