Youth Theatre

Speakeasy have been involved in Youth Theatre projects since the company began in 1996, most notably creating the Youth Theatre project 'Act Up!' serving the Saffron Lane/Eyres Monsell areas of Leicester.

As with all of Speakeasy's projects, our Youth Theatre work is based on giving people an opportunity to express themselves through high quality drama provision, not only focussing on drama skills, but also team working, responsibility and development of social and emotional skills. Speakeasy have delivered such projects both in and out of education settings, most recently running The Y's 'Dramarama' youth theatre, sessions at Atherstone Youth Theatre, after school drama activities at Eyres Monsell Primary School, Marriott Primary School, and also involving 'Act Up' in the Youth Performing Arts Network's youth theatre festival 'Box'.
